Bob Hudson Posted November 5, 2014 Share #12 Posted November 5, 2014 John A Podskarbi was with the Fourth Joint Assault Signal Co at Peleliu and was with that unit until the end of the war, so if you google that unit name you should be able to learn what other campaigns he was in. Amshay was with the Fourth Defense Battalion from early 1942 until mid 1944. I believe he was in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941 and would have been at thr following places with this unit: Guantanamo Bay, Cuba Pearl Harbor, HawaiiMidway IslandNew Hebrides IslandsNew ZealandGuadalcanalVella LavellaPeleliu
Bob Hudson Posted November 5, 2014 Share #13 Posted November 5, 2014 Amshay was on Midway in January 1942, so theres a chance he was there on Dec. 7, but you can't tell from the info in the muster rolls.

EmeraldBat Posted December 29, 2014 Share #15 Posted December 29, 2014 For the US Army guys you can usually get their enlistment information at the National Archives. http://aad.archives.gov/aad/index.jsp It can be hard to figure out their service history though. Sometimes Findagrave.com has information. Or depending on how hard you want to look - https://familysearch.org/ I think they have the 1940 census records. With some of the unusual surnames - you might have some luck.
