Navy Police/Master-At-Arms Badges

Recommended Posts

This is interesting, ACORN units had a life span from being assembled and trained and about 4 months after invasion when they were replaced with a CASU of PATSU. Was this from a person assigned to the Acorn training base?

Unfortunately there is no owner history with this badge.

I tried for this badge on eBay three days ago but was outbid. The USS Solace was an unarmed hospital ship at Pearl Harbor during the attack on December 7, 1941. Per a Wikipedia write up, "The Japanese Honoring the rules of the Geneva Convention, the attacking Japanese aircraft did not hit Solace due to her white paint and red crosses. She was one of the few ships not damaged during the attack." Would you believe that this morning at the flea market I was offered a pair of 8 x 10 black and white period photographs of the USS Solace and the second photograph showed a grouping of uniformed Naval Officers seated on the deck of the USS Solace with all of their names written on the back. I didn't buy the photos as the seller wanted a little too much money for them however had I been successful in obtaining this badge I would have made the purchase.
