Here's one I picked up recently. The ship was commissioned in 1941 and decommissioned in 1968. So that gives a pretty narrow timeframe on the age of the badge. I'm thinking it was used in the 1960 to 1968 timeframe given the Large Burgess pin catch.

I got this badge as part of a WW2 US Navy Grouping for a sailor who served in the Pacific as well as Europe but not post war so I will have to assume it's WW2 period. No ship name or maker's marks but as noted it says U.S. Navy Police Petty Officer with the numeral 10. Brass construction with a soldered on pinback with C closure to the reverse measuring 1 5/8" in width by 1 7/8" in height. Here's the front:

And the reverse.

I went through this entire thread and saw several that had the same shield style but none that matched the working so perhaps it's one of a kind. Too bad it didn't come with an ID or a ship name to put it to too.

Here is an interesting badge. Brand new Master at Arms badge for the USS Jason Dunham. This one is still sealed in the plastic and never issued.

Nice there looks to be a makers mark on it?

Yes, it is marked

Nielsen MFG Co.

Chehalis, Washington

2009

The ship was commissioned in 2010. So that would make this an original un-issued badge.

Great looking badges. Any of them marked on the back?

Thanks FF,

I was really happy to get the Brig badge!!

The NAS Key West badge is from the George Cake Co.

The Norfolk Brig and the USS Pigeon are Blackington badges.

The Norfolk Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Guard is unmarked.

Here is a Naval Construction Battalion MAA badge I recently acquired. This one is engraved to the 26th Special Construction Battalion, and is also for the Chief MAA.

After some research online I was able to pin down the Chief and a picture of him wearing the badge. This picture came from the 26th Special Battalion history book.

J. B. Jordan Chief Bosun's Mate (Chief MAA) 26th Special Construction Batt. kneeling third from left.
