Hey Fellas

Im going to try and catalog as many Vietnam era Viet Tailors labels as I can locate. If you would like to help out, please post pics of your labels here or PM them to me. Please include a brief description of the clothing or headgear and any other info you might have regarding shop location etc etc. I was fully prepared to file and forget this idea but a gentle prod from Kammo man has encouraged me to give it a shot. Once a significant number of labels have been gathered Ill see about pinning the thread or adding to the reference threads or something like that so that we can all benefit from the project. Thanks guys !!

I was thinking we could stretch it to include Tailors from Hong Kong, Okinawa, P.I. Thailand and Japan. That would cover all the major sources for tailor made Vietnam era items. BTW, Thanks RP for getting the ball rolling. Ill get some more up in a few minutes.

Here's a classic Cheap Charlie label from the shop in Pleiku. This was in a funky fedora style Tiger boonie. I was under the impression that the Cheap Charlie shop was in Saigon but they must have had multiple locations.

Heres one from the Luong Phan tailor shop in Saigon. Label was in a really nice baseball style cap with embroidered Brig. Generals stars.

Sang Woo Tailor shop, Naha Okinawa. This label was in a super fine US Army white Mess dress jacket. the other printed label was in the matching pants. Apparently Mr Woo had shops in both Oki and Hong Kong. Labels from Sang Woo are usually found in nicer, officer quality uniforms. The Hong Kong location was most likely more of a manufacturing set up while the Oki location did the alterations.

This label was found in an Army, enlisted Dress Green coat. The coat also has a 9th Div SSI but lacked any other insignia. The tailor was obviously Korean, and most likely that's where the shop was located as well. I love how some of these shops embroidered the owners name on the label.

More from Mr Woo. While these arent labels per se,but they are too cool to ignore. The Plastic clothing bag and the hanger were both marked and came with the Mess dress uniform
