Longbranch Posted January 19, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 19, 2014 Hello all,Not necessarily military related, but certainly related to the GWOT. Had to make a bit of a long trip to snag it at an auction, but I feel it was worth it for a unique piece of U.S. history. This red version of the Usama/Osama Bin Laden FBI wanted poster is generally accepted as being pre-9/11 (in 2002, the poster was changed to the commonly seen blue type). This poster is 100% legit, and was originally sent by the FBI to the post office of a small rural Kansas town (population less than 300). As can be seen, it has creases where it was folded and run through the mail system, and the backside also has the remains of the sticker that sealed the folded poster, as well as the mailing label. Most of the posters like this that you'll find were mailed to post offices around the country, but many were also sent out to police stations and various government agencies and FBI office branches. Check it out: Moderators, if it's felt that this does not qualify as being U.S. military related, feel free to delete this thread. It's an interesting item related to the beginning of the longest war in U.S. history, and thought maybe other's might like to see it.
Delta-Fox Posted January 19, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 19, 2014 Wrong spelling its OSAMA(أسامة بن لادن) and not USAMA, that makes it more rare. It's a very interesting piece of history. Greetings from Ireland
jim2 Posted January 19, 2014 Share #3 Posted January 19, 2014 Nice piece of history. Thankfully the FBI can take him off their list

Greetings from Ireland The FBI uses the "Usama" transliteration. Pretty sure either are acceptable and not wrong
