USAF Display : C-124 Globemaster Pilot, 2nd Strategic Support Squadron, SAC, Korea 1951

A still life evoking a pilot of the 2nd SSS, one of the four Squadrons of the Air Command Startegic operating on C-124 Globemaster.
Their main function is the transport of nuclear weapons between air bases and the personnel and equipment of the SAC during exercises and external deployments.

The flight gear consist on a K-1 flight suit, a A-10A flying helmet equipped with a A-1 visor, all made by Lite Mfg, a E-1 radio carrier vest containing the survival radio RT-159A / RCU-4 and its battery and a lifejacket Type B-5 marked from the 2nd Strategic Support Squadron.
