Hello everyone. Here is a little grouping that I just traded for. I have some questions about it so please feel free to sound off on any information that you can add to the history for me.

The box was shipped home by Sgt. Donald Kimple 37747983 35th FS of the 8th FG to an address in Kansas. I am pretty sure it was a crate for some Japanese radio equipment. There was also a loose data tag inside which I believe is also a Japanese radio data tag, paper money, a kimono, a snapshot of a Japanese soldier etc.

My questions:

1. Can anyone verify that the box and tag are indeed for a radio? If so can you tell me anything else about them? Is it an aircraft radio?

2. What is the orange chute? Is it a US equipment chute? I can find some very faint stampings on it, but they are so faint I can't make out letters or anything honestly.

3. Sgt. Kimple's box has some paperwork from the 1980's from the veterans association of the 32nd Infantry Division. Seems odd since his wartime address is with a fighter group. Any ideas on that one?

Thanks for looking!

Paul
