Lance,

Tried that one, and that appears to be the FSN for the South Korean modified/manufactured M5s which is apparently different from the original U.S. manufactured M5s.

Greetings Shawn,

1095-00-726-6556 is the NSN for the US M5 Bayonet (if you want the original Federal Stock Number, just delete the 00s).

1015-00-336-8571 & 1005-00-336-8568 are the NSNs for the US M5A1 Bayonet (1005-00-336-8568 was deleted).

Plug the numbers in here and you will see they come up with the proper designations. http://www.dlis.dla.mil/webflis/pub/pub_search.aspx I have included a photo of an original M5 Bayonet’s packaging where you may visually confirm the FSN on the very top of the data’s list.

Regards,

Lance

It is amazing DLA still maintains both the M5 and M5A1 NSNs. I guess there is still a demand for bayonets for ceremonial M1s.

Greetings Shawn,

Happy to have been of assistance. I think the continuance of keeping them on the books has more to do with the Foreign Military Sales program, than their need for ceremonial use. But, that’s just a guess on my part.

Regards,

Lance
