oldabewla Posted December 23, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 23, 2013 I have his USAF Sept 1951 dated 1st edition silk survival map of Korea on both sides. This is the only one I ever came across. I was just wanted to know if it was used by the jet, prop pilots, bomber crews or the helicopter flyers? Map is 40" X 40" Sorry for the poor picture. Survival Posted December 24, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 24, 2013 It would have been issued to just about everyone flying over Korea during the later part of the war. Probably a good possibility even the Navy flyers had them but don't know for sure. There was a whole series of escape maps printed in the late 40s early 50s of just about the entire planet. If this is the map of just Korea its probably a little more desirable to collectors. I think the map number is something like W1 and W2, or something similar. Its sort of a special edition. oldabewla Posted December 25, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted December 25, 2013 The map is marked Korea ( CL WJ-1) on the one side and ( CL WJ-2) on the other side and put out by the Aeronautical chart and information service USAF. Craig
