Can anyone ID the unit crest on this 1917 A1 helmet? Looks like an old decal and has been there a long time. Thanks.

Hmm, it's on a M1917A1, a pre WWII example, late 30s early 40s helmet?

Probably from just before it was federalized in 1941.

Of course being an M1917A1 it could have still been worn in 1942 during their training period. Photos will establish when they switched to the M1 helmet.

Found a pre war image to show that this type of Regimental Insignia taken from the unit crest was indeed worn then.

The 250th CA Regt like the 160th Inf Regt was a California National Guard Unit, this begs the question of if this was something unique to the Calif NG of this period.
