ThompsonSavage Posted December 18, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 18, 2013 Bought these boots online but sadly the mildew is worse than I hoped. I looked online and most websites say using vinegar/rubbing alcohol and water give the best result in removing the mildew. Anyone have experience with this or any other mildew removing methods? ThompsonSavage Posted December 18, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted December 18, 2013 Biggest problem is inside the boots. Can't clearly photograph the problem area.
Sabrejet Posted December 18, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 18, 2013 There are various commercial / domestic sprays available in supermarkets for treating mold / mildew. You could maybe spray the inside of each boot with one?
BROBS Posted December 18, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 18, 2013 can it just all be removed with a stiff-bristled brush? -Brian
ThompsonSavage Posted December 18, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted December 18, 2013 I'm kinda scared of using chemicals... I will start with a soft/medium brush and the vacuum, then a damp rag. Will give an update tomorrow.
capa Posted December 19, 2013 Share #6 Posted December 19, 2013 I'd start with a slightly damp rag and see how that works followed by a quick buff with a dry rag.
Nack Posted December 19, 2013 Share #7 Posted December 19, 2013 I've removed mildew by brushing it off with a natural-bristled brush and then wiping the leather down with a lightly damp rag.
