fstop61 Posted December 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2013 I came across this series of wartime shorts on You Tube they're entitled "The Army-Navy Screen Magazine". I've linked two for you to watch. Well worth the time! The first one is about the Marshall Island campaign (shows 7th ID soldiers wearing those the recognition vests that have been discussed in other topics) http://youtu.be/sd3XChkpVE0 http://youtu.be/Xj2gn10wino
ustpatcher1a Posted July 1, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 1, 2015 I'm of a generation that the first war movies were black & white ones, mostly on WW2 or Korea. WW2 must see fictional narrative film (not in any order of importance) - 1. A Walk in The Sun. 2. Best Years of Our LIves. 3. The MEN. 4. Battleground. 5. Sahara (Bogart) 6. Five Graves to Cairo. 7. The Purple Heart. 8. Go for Broke. 9. Battlecry. 10. Patton. 11. The Sand Pebbles 12. Wake Island. 13. The Steel Helmet.
