Bwormuth Posted December 8, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2013 I think this is a powder horn. What do you guys think about this. I have no information on this piece but where it was found leads me to think that it is Civil War era. Do you any idea of the value or any information on it? Shenkursk Posted December 18, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 18, 2013 It is a shot pouch, hard to tell a date from photos but these were used throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. Not military. Value is to hunting / fishing collector, fairly common item, $35-$75.

Cavdoc83 Posted December 19, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2013 I'm not sure that I've ever seen a double shot pouch. That's pretty cool! Any shotgunners out there? What would be the need for carrying two sizes of shot? I can't imagine carrying powder in that second tube (might not stay dry).
