And this one, this with the authorized shoulder patch for the unit in decal form, no photos so far have been posted of it being worn, so making it a rare one one.

Here's a rare one, one for the 2nd Battle Group 14th Infantry Infantry School Ft Benning Georgia, when this liner was worn the unit was assigned to Ft Benning on May 25 195, it will then be assigned to the newly activated 1st Infantry Brigade (Separate) July 1 1958 and would have that units decal on it.

VE Day or near it or after it with the 63rd Inf Div, curious though that they may have worn the decal only on one side, not both, as the other photo we're not seeing the decal (Officer there in second photo is the Division Commander Louis E.Hibbs, he was in the Big Red One in WWI, thus the French Rope)

I own these photos and many more from this day it is from June 15, 1945 the 63rd division 2nd Birthday. A lot of medals were presented that day to the men.

Hi patches,

photographed this week on display in the Victory Museum, Carentan, Normandy. . . . . . . . the wooden numbered pieces resting on each helmet corresponds to a identification chart at the side of the display.

A 509th Tank Battalion liner, 9th Cavalry Regiment downgraded and redesingated in the 50s to this 509th Tank Battalion at Camp Polk in 1950, believe unit was still all black at this time. unit inactivated in 1956 at Fort Knox, probably an all mixed desegregated unit by this time, and reactivated back to the 9th Cavalry in 1957.

Was browsing through this thread and realized I've never posted all of my marked liners. Figured now would be as good a time as any to add them!

70s liner with 78th ID decal and overpainted 311th Infantry Regiment decal. Sweatband is dated '71

Not in the best of shape but still neat!PXL_20220906_133956942.jpg.bb8d7f78f03cae8decc931a715ab08f5.jpgPXL_20220906_134004405.jpg.6175b42c49f0cf3d94872bd468e6fc5b.jpgPXL_20220906_134012217.jpg.5937ed7ac21fe4f154b6ebd5d15b41d1.jpg

Early WW2 Firestone liner with Captain's bars and name painted on the front. I haven't found any other identifying information on this one unfortunately so no ID as of now. Heavily used but overall it's still in good condition, including the early double wire sweatband.

Taped/Named liners. The one on the left is paint on tape while the one on the right is ink.

No Good ID on the one marked LUDWIG.N.

LEONARD.F has a different name/ASN on the sweatband which I've ID'd and a very difficult to read laundry number for Leonard but no solid ID on him as of yet.PXL_20220906_134409415.jpg.f79633d8623c8d64e383bddd9b7a743f.jpgPXL_20220906_134428935.jpg.9a7a00804d74c56f2aaefea32bc121a8.jpgPXL_20220906_134445325.jpg.7ba180ef224eb3d1ad8980bafc5a49ce.jpg

5th ID NCO Liners and 1st LT liner from the 50's/60s

1st Lt. is the last style of liner with the center tie in the webbing. Sweatband is dated '63.

The NCO liner with the decal on the front is a 50's manufactured liner. The other NCO is a WWII manufactured liner, I added the chinstrap to that one

Simple one, has a 19 stenciled on it. Possibly used for training but I'm unsure. Whatever the use both the liner and the shell received the same stencil.

WWII era liner with post war chinstrap. Unsure of what the marking means, but I'm assuming navy. Came with a salty shell marked with SUP-3 on the rear from a seller from Hawaii. Unfortunately the webbing has seen better days.

Chief Warrant Officer marked Hood Rubber Liner. Shell and liner both have the same laundry number stamped on them but it differs from the name on the brim of the liner. Unfortunately no solid ID yet.
