Jim Baker Posted January 2, 2014 Share #26 Posted January 2, 2014 What about the beach landing scene in Saving Private Ryan? It was advertised as "as close to combat without being there" I've also heard this from vets. When we went to see it, a younger couple and an old man were a few rows in front of us. About 3/4 of the way through the landing scene, the old man got up and walked out. When we were leaving the theater he was still sitting in the lobby waiting for the couple to come out. He was staring off into space seemingly lost in his thoughts. I guess it was too much for him.

I went to see SPR by myself at a theater in Manhattan right, I had the unfortunate experience of sitting behind a bunch of twerps who laughed though it all, Yo Yo look at that and Shiiit, Ha Ha Ha, they where either stoned or just a product of there generation or both, they repeatedly laughed throughout the opening scene, laughing at everything, it was infuriating. But what are you going to say, no doubt with the type of mentality these moron's had they most likely would of ganged-up on me, it's happened before. I sort of lost my cool at them and we were all escorted from the theater. the VFW guys were stand up guys, and told management if I had to leave, they would leave too, so they restarted the film but made sure the other group of kids didn't come back in. its shameful that some people have such little respect for others. as a teenager myself, I was really disappointed in my generation of Americans that day.
