67Rally Posted November 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2013 While I was researching something entirely away from this topic, I found this site, Museum Textile Services and their blog (see: MTS Blog) where they discuss an array of preservation topics that you all might find of interest. The subject of mold and its eradication from fabrics is of particular interest to a lot of us (see: Mold, Before & After). Their process for the removal, cleaning, stabilizing and preservation (of the item) was a good read.

439th Signal Battalion Posted November 26, 2013 Share #3 Posted November 26, 2013 Good article; thank you for posting. Much of my collection is in a separate room in the basement of my house. I alternate a dehumidifier and leave the light on in the room. I have found that this controls most of the small mold problem that I have there, which is typical for most downstairs rooms.
