"Hell for leather!" (Sabrejet's specials!)

I've been making / painting my own leather squadron patches for some time now, but not as a commercial venture, just purely to amuse myself. I take the view that I'm never going to be able to own the real things, so why not create my own instead? I've recently re-photographed them and added a few more. I display them as a kind of "frieze" around the walls of my war-room where they make a colourful backdrop to the USAAF part of my collection. All are on 5" leather discs and are hand-painted using a mixture of hobby enamels and artists' acrylics. I always date, sign and ID the patches on the reverse side with a permanent marker.

First off, a bunch of primed 5" leather discs, all ready to go, and one "in progress" patch with the basic colours laid down, ready to work on.
