skypilot6670 Posted November 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 21, 2013 Can anyone tell me if this is a good wing or identify the maker?
MikeK Posted November 22, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 22, 2013 Hi, It looks a relatively poor quality casting to me. Imo not an Assmann in any case. They used a "pelican beak" style wing and were normally solid backs with central indentations and raised markings. Assmanns also normally used clutchbacks. John Conway Posted November 22, 2013 Share #3 Posted November 22, 2013 I've seen this kind of wing before but not sure where they came from. If you look closely the basis of the wing appears to be a casting off of a "Juarez" pattern but the wing tips have been blunted and the center is very different. I'd tend to agree with Mike in that it is definitely not an Assman, but what it is - I'm not sure???

John Cooper Posted November 22, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2013 Looks like these have been ID'd but I want to suggest that the OP do a search for the post war German maker to see some examples.
John Conway Posted November 22, 2013 Share #6 Posted November 22, 2013 Denmark - made for museum gift shops. BRAVO - now that you mention it - I do recall seeing one on a Denmark card somewhere over the years!
skypilot6670 Posted November 22, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted November 22, 2013 Thanks to all.I have searched through all my resources and could not find anything close.I assumed it was a die made wing because of the hollow back. Now looking closer 10X I have no doubt it's cast.Another wing for the oops box.Again thanks for taking the time to help.
