carried mostly by several Union Calvary units, and also by some confederate units, having received some Maynards before the start of war.

My carbine is a shooter, although I have not shot it in a number years do to old age.....Can't post pics as they are to large.

Maynard is a great reenacting gun. Although being left handed I always got powder burns on my right hand because of the shortness of the forestock and general hammer/nipple arangement. Just don't drop the brass!

I am also left handed and have had problems with other guns as well. 187thAirborne, what model Maynard do you have. I have always admired the 1st model with the patch box?
