The Sept. '43 date would explain why this coat doesn't show up in the Aug. '43 Q.M. Catalogue.

Rear view of this Overcoat; the waist belt set-up is identical to the Mountain Jacket and Reversible Overcoat...

i want to thank the two admins for leading me to this post.

 

after reading the posts , it sounds that this is an actual military outer wear garment. some time post korea. do the serial numbers help id the item.
