TLHorstead Posted November 4, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2013 This is the 46th Communications Squadron, Air Force formed at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, on 04 Dec 1950, and was later redesignated as the 46th Communications Group on 01 Jul 1976; abd as the 46th Information System Group, on 06 Jul 1984; 46th Communications Group on (01 Nov 1986) the unit also was designated as a unit level organization due to the deletion if the Group Headquarters (DAF/PRM 743q 7 Nov 1986 / HQ AFCC SO: G-18 / AFR-26-2, [c1]) the unit is designated as a Non Flag Bearing Group and may request a new disc shaped insignia.
