Mark Weast Posted November 19, 2013 Share #31 Posted November 19, 2013 Very historic piece. My father ( Carl F. Weast ) served in B company and I recognize some of the names. Of the original 64 men in B company only 21 remained in the outfit at the end of the war.

Ohiowolverine Posted November 21, 2013 Share #33 Posted November 21, 2013 Hooah! My grandpa, Herbert Stanton Hull served with the 5th Ranger Infantry Battalion, Company B, 2nd Platoon until he was wounded in the Battle for Brest. Many of these men were his comrads. This is really cool. I am currently writing a book about the unit, and if anyone reading this has documentation of these men and their deeds, I would welcome being contacted to discuss. I am also really looking hard for two Orders covering the CIB and BSM for these guys if anyone can produce a copy. These are: SO #7, Headquarters Provisional Ranger Group, 23 July 1944 SO #9, Headquarters Provisional Ranger Group, 23 July 1944 Noel Mehlo [email protected]
