B-17 DATA PLATE

I've seen these up for sale on EBAY every now and then and they always go for a few hundred dollars. I did a little research on this one and it appears that it is from one of three B-17's used in the filming of the movie "The War Lover".Two of the B-17's were scrapped in 1963 when filming wrapped up in England. Interestingly the third one, the survivor, now flies as Fuddy Duddy. Here's my question...What do the markings on the rear of the plate mean ?post-13070-0-07925500-1383335917.jpgpost-13070-0-66995200-1383335925.jpg

That's really cool! Several years ago a bunch of unused original blanks appeared on the market...I bought one at the time...but to have a used one such as yours is great!

Here is 44-83877 "dressed up" as 41-27723 nose art "TWOSOME" for the filming of The War Lover. From the research I've been doing the three planes used in the filming had numerous tail numbers and nose art.post-13070-0-53405100-1384034109.jpg
