gitana Posted November 1, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 1, 2013 I have noticed this freaky looking thing and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. Looks like a ACH that's been crudely added to, and then painted, but the reason for doing this is beyond me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/301000141154?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

TRR Posted November 1, 2013 Share #7 Posted November 1, 2013 Possible prototype, art piece, or possibly made by an airsofter. Does not appear to be a Kevlar at all by looking at the inside, looks completely fabricated. It is also coming out of the Fort Bragg area, which would lead me to believe some sort of protoype or art project by an Army kid.

I agree it could go either way, but I can't imagine someone going to those lengths for an art project. Nor can I imagine any possible use as a prototype. Unless it's a 'Stealth' helmet. jasonc Posted November 1, 2013 Share #11 Posted November 1, 2013 First thing I thought of when I saw it was the helmets from Starship Troopers: http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/13500000/Starship-Troopers-starship-troopers-13578605-1024-768.jpg

TheGermanCollector Posted November 1, 2013 Share #13 Posted November 1, 2013 Wow, This is weird never seen anything like this. I agree it looks to complex for an art project. Cool thread.
Garandomatic Posted November 1, 2013 Share #14 Posted November 1, 2013 Look inside and you can see that the geometric shape is visible on the inside of part of it, too. It isn't something like a kevlar that has been added to. Too complex for an art project, unless it's college. I vote either prototype or movie prop. Sjef Posted November 1, 2013 Share #16 Posted November 1, 2013 Tailor-made for Kryton, of the cult British tv show "Red Dwarf"! Maybe it is the next thing in military fashion. It go's well with the Commodore 64 camo patterns of the US forces.
