Today im very proud:)

 

my oldest son on 14 years have realy found the interest in USMC and US military in general.

i had to make pictures for him a few days ago afther him and me visited the Warlords:

Us Marines from 2nd Marine Division Camp Lejeune North Carolina

at the exersice cold response 2014 realy close to our home

 

on the pictures you wil also see the new old style snow shoes used in norway back in the early 2000.

(finaly gott a pair)

Here are fresh pictures of my son Erlend displaying a US MARINES from Lima company 3rd battalion 2nd marine regiment 1

at exersice Battle Griffin Norway 1999

 

he wears the USMC goretex and black beanie cap,vb boots

the under wear is not pictured since we dont have the setts yet..

now with the over whites in nylon and the flc vest rigged for rifleman

back:old style canteen covers was still in use,same with the old style

first aid kit. some units did have the new molle canteen covers

pasgt helmet with snow cover and on the hands black goretex gloves in leather

a picture of the unit my son is displaying,dated from february 7th 1999

in this picture the marines uses knitted wool cap,but some where i have a picture of

them using the flecce cap in black

finaly i got a sett of the winter ligth weigth topp and bottom underwear in wool from the 1980s.

as far as i can see under the blackened date the bottom is 1983 date and the shirt 83 or 84 not shure.

 

 

 

btw was there a extreme cold weather sett to in the same time frame?

yes it have a lot of the K-bar in it,and its big for being a bayonet to

managed to get hold of the filbe 3 day assault pack with the assault utility pouch and 2 sustainment utility pouches for my big filbe ruck sack+the stove box for the coleman peak 1 multifuel stove

the collection of USMC cold weather gear and clothing are still growing.

 

today I can show you the:

3 season sleeping bag (S3) with the extreme cold weather bag (black colour) with the bivy bag in Gore-Tex.

just missing the extreme cold weather compression stuff bag..

 

And here are the 4 types of sleeping bags used my the USMC in Norway.

the regular one,the extreme cold,the mss one and the 3s one

 

The next thing is a extreme cold weather mask in green, remember these was used back in the 80s specially by tank drivers.
