Bob Hudson Posted October 26, 2013 #1 Posted October 26, 2013 A buddy asked me to do a video interview of his friend who joined the Marines in 1942 at age 16. He fought on Guam, left the Corps after the war, but eventually reenlisted and became a career Marine. This is the first part:
MarkusL Posted October 27, 2013 #2 Posted October 27, 2013 Thanks a lot for your effort to interview him and posting it Bob!
Bob Hudson Posted September 12, 2014 Author #3 Posted September 12, 2014 I had lost some memory cards, so finishing the project has been on hold, but I was finally able to add another chapter:
ka bar Posted September 14, 2014 #4 Posted September 14, 2014 Bob, it must have been an absolute thrill to meet this gentleman... I also like your style of questioning... You never pushed him, but rather let him open up to his own accord... It must take a lot for veterans to talk about their experiences... One of the most enjoyable posts I have experienced since joining USMF...
knd643 Posted September 20, 2014 #5 Posted September 20, 2014 Thank you very much for posting this. It must have been amazing to have met him. I can't wait until you post the 3rd part.
Bob Hudson Posted September 20, 2014 Author #6 Posted September 20, 2014 Thank you very much for posting this. It must have been amazing to have met him. I can't wait until you post the 3rd part. I hadn't seen him in a while, buy he stopped by my indoor flea market booth today. He always wears his blue ball cap with the WWII-KOREA-VIETNAM writing on it. I had a white one in my booth and gave that to him so he could have something cooler to wear on hot days. He eent skydiving for his 90th birthday and today I showed him and his daughter a video of the water-powered jet pack you can rent at San Diego's Mission Bay and he decided he wants to do that next and he probably will. Rudy's older than my dad, but he has lots more spunk than I do.
