jasonc Posted October 24, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2013 Not the greatest photo--the scan is from a 20 year old Polaroid--but the only one I have of the Beirut Memorial. Wanted to post it because a remembrance of the bombing was held there today. If the photo doesn't suit the intent of this section, mods please remove. Backtheattack Posted October 25, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 25, 2013 I think here is the correct place for this pic. Thank you!
capa Posted October 25, 2013 Share #4 Posted October 25, 2013 I was in Communications School at Twentynine Palms when it happened. It was really tough knowing what had been done to your fellow Marines and not have anything to do about it. That's a really good memorial, thanks for posting the photo. Semper Fi! jasonc Posted October 25, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted October 25, 2013 Thanks for everyone's comments. I was unsure about posting because, unlike a lot of the other photos here, the original focus of this one wasn't the monument itself I went to MSG school in Quantico not long after that picture was taken, and of course the bombing still had a big effect on how embassy security was done. There was a small collection of photos and other items at the school, but I didn't think to take any pictures at the time.
