Sabrejet Posted October 14, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 14, 2013 I think that DUI rejoices in the acronym FARTC Field Artillery Command?
Grant S. Posted October 14, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 14, 2013 I know this one! This is plain old Field Artillery Center and School. FARTC is octagonal, red, with a cannon and a lamp above a chevron.

patches Posted December 8, 2013 Share #6 Posted December 8, 2013 And they are a Patch Type Crest, one for the old style insigina used up till 1957.
vzemke Posted December 8, 2013 Share #7 Posted December 8, 2013 Patches, Like the infantry school, it was probably more the other way around. A patch in the design of the approved DI, which later became an official authorized SSI. I've always felt that "Patch Type Crest" generally implies the crest is copying the patch, not the other way around. -Vance
