Bought this last week. Was wondering if it is ww2 or post war? Thanks for any information.

I'd love to have a real WW2 screaming eagle.....but dont know enough and fakes seem to outnumber the real ones.

Took me 10 years (yes I waited that long) to finally pick up my first 101st patch. I held off for the same reasons as you and didn't buy till I felt comfortable being able to determine which "type" it was without having to refer to my reference books (though I still need to look in them to confirm).

 

Find a dealer/seller you trust and get it from him/her. 90% of the patches I buy are from the same 4 sellers, which Im sure they love, but I also feel more comfortable buying a rare patch from them over someone else.

 

Reference books and experience will be the two things that help you he most... My militaria collecting hobby has also made me acquire quite a nice book collection.
