VMI88 Posted October 13, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 13, 2013 I picked up this OG-107 fatigue shirt yesterday. Unfortunately someone removed the SSI but the name tape and US Army tapes are interesting.
VMI88 Posted October 13, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted October 13, 2013 The name tape bears all the signs of being embroidered in Vietnam, but it's an early white one.
VMI88 Posted October 13, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted October 13, 2013 Here's the most interesting part of the uniform: The black and gold woven US Army tape is not the type you typically see. The black background appears identical to that on Vietnamese parachute wings, BDQ insignia, etc. I've never heard of these US Army tapes being produced in Vietnam but that's my best guess. Another possibility is that the Vietnamese insignia and this tape were manufactured in Japan or some other Asian country. Can anyone shed any light on this? VMI88 Posted October 14, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted October 14, 2013 The patch was a small round one, likely 1st Logistics Command or something similar.
