LB- I've seen a couple of different QUIK Letters sets. One was the one that you have and the other was Navy. I wonder if there is also a Army and Marine version out there somewhere.

I have no idea Strawberry !! you have more experiance of these items than i have :D im still a novice so im all up for learning and finding out !!!

All the emphasis so far has been towards the material that was to be written on , so hows about the instrument used to do the writing with , so heres mechanical pencil with the "Air Training Command " motif

 

Maybe this could have been used to write home with ?

 

made by "RITEPOINT " of St Louis

 

just to "point" out , a fellow member of the "Celtic persuasion" has informed me this pencil would originate from around 1947 due to the fact of the "Air Training Command " emblem

Have just received today my latest snagging of Ebay !! i have posted the pics from the seller earlier in the thread but i hope mine are a little sharper in detail ??

 

First up is a headed note paper from the 400TH BG not in the best of shape , but how many of these do you see for sale ???

Some lovely paperwork there Carl, very very nice. Take a look at BandL collectibles. Bob is a great guy and he has some fantastic items of epherma especially USAAF related. I just bought some very nice ground crew related stuff from him

Then there are these 4 !! now!!!! , dont get all PC with me saying "thats down grading to women , and all that " these sort of postcards would have been an integeral part of the servicemans personal kit !! very much along the lines of Varga and Elvgren
