Interesting Udorn no name lighter from the NCO Open Mess.

Very well done thrifter! The location on the lighter of Udorn Air Base Thailand, where special ops did so much work along with the regular Air Force, makes that a very special piece, along with the color! That color is just beautiful on the enamel, just wow! Thanks for sharing man..

Thanks y'all! One thing I will clarify though is that the glued insignia is more like a beercan style dui piece.

I have seen a few of this "type" before. I suspect that the Japanese "No-Name" blank cases were obtained by local Thai retailers who then added their own "beercans" to order. Very cool! Thanks for posting it.

I don't think a lighter gets much more pristine than that Cobra! Just beautiful with the enamel in perfect condition! Splendid find

Thanks, mtnman. Plus it’s in my home state of Virginia, too! And 8240th A.U., both of those lighters have that “been there, done that” look!  Nice ones!

Utterly beautiful box and lighter for the HQ Section of the 44th Enginner Group in Korat Thailand. First time I've seen one with gold filled letters. Though it did make it hard to photograph.

There was an earlier discussion about some military guys having a fondness for “artifacts” (particularly patches and lighters) that had skull designs. Here’s a titanium lighter with a skull peaking out:

That, is by far the coolest design I have seen In a long time! The 3D effect is just spectacular!

Thanks, mtnman! Having titanium as a medium allows those 3D designs since titanium is very light. This way they can make lighters just a bit thicker and, thus, create that three dimensional look.
