Copran Posted June 6, 2008 Share #26 Posted June 6, 2008 Hi Owen, The shirt had the gaz flap but it was sewn flat by the owner probably in order to have his chest and neck open for more ventilation. The cut is exactely like the Pink Windpoof Airborne set.I had another shirt with cuffs shortened and pen pockets added, unfortunately I sold it for a friend few months ago. Cheers Hi Copran.I have been collecting Vietnam camouflage uniforms for 25 years and your heavy weight Invisible Erdl pattern set is fantastic. In all these years I have only owned the pants. You have a super rare killer set there. Well done. The set is cut just like the 1st pattern windproof uniform. The shirt has a gas flap? What is the date in your set? You have something very special there, in my opinion. all the best o
Mr-X Posted June 6, 2008 Share #27 Posted June 6, 2008 I'd give just about anything for one of those ARVN Ranger helmets!!!! Here the ARVN Ranger helmet in my collection. It is a well worn era WW2 helmet. The stainless steel reflective band has been removed. I guess the soldier didn't want to make himself a target. There are no chin straps. It isn't the often seen yellow and black cammo. It is black, maroon and lime green. I once saw a reference to which ARVN ranger battalions painted their helmet in which way. Does anybody know? rolfi Posted June 6, 2008 Share #28 Posted June 6, 2008 The woman in the BW photo is Madame Ho Thi Que; the wife of Major Le Van Dan – the commander of the 44th Biet Dong Quan. In 1965 he shot and killed her; claiming she attacked him after finding him with another woman.

Copran Posted July 9, 2008 Share #41 Posted July 9, 2008 Hello, Here is my first attempt to make mannekin in Ranger in Beogam camo Uniforms. If you have a CBS Vietnam a Television History by Walter Cronkite, you can see a lot of rangers wearing this pattern in the episod of Tet Offensive (when we have 2 US rangers advisors interviewed). Since I'm notcollecting weapon, even de-mil ones, the display is only about the uniforms and webgear. Any comment is welcomed.
