Is there any harm in displaying leather and cloth flight helmets on styrofoam heads

Not that I've noticed. I've had mine on Styrofoam heads for years. Just make sure that the temp and environment is good for the leather, the cloth helmets aren't so worrisome.

If there is no vinyl in the helmet then you should not have problems, but if there is vinyl, the plasticizers in it will leach out and attack the styrofoam, basically melting it, sticking it to the vinyl.

If you want to play it safe, cover the styro with light cotton...does not have to be heavy. Also you can pick out whatever color you want.

The cloth can be drawn together at the neck and secured with long plastic zip ties, then trimmed.

The appearance looks professional and clean without the styro look and risk of damage to your artifacts.

Thanks for the tip the cloth covering looks better than the styrofoam and prevents any issues
