Thought I'd share a couple new posters that I've just acquired. First one is a post-world war 2 poster by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and it measures (approx. 17"x 24"). Haven't researched the artist as of yet. I'm in the middle of framing it-post-35406-0-35198700-1380654843.jpg

Here's the second one from 1918 by the Watervliet Arsenal (NY). This one measures 25"-1/2 x 36" and has been mounted on linen. Really great sepia imagery. little background on the Waterviet Arsenal-it's the oldest continuously active arsenal in the US -beginning in 1813. Still producing material for the army. Thanks for looking......

How easy...or not...is it to find these posters? Is it a collector > collector thing or are there specialist dealers and auctions etc?

Posters are pretty easy to find-Ebay probably the best selection for the money. Just need to be careful to know what to look for...lots of reproductions out there. There's a handfull of "brick and mortar" dealers out there-they have great posters though they're selling them for big bucks.

Thanks

What does the "Kill Rats", poster have to do with U.S. militaria?

Well, you could say the same thing for any "Homefront" posters too. The connection for me was the headline of the newspaper in the poster. I apologize to anyone offended by the faux pas.

Mods-if you feel that this needs to be deleted please do Thanks.............

The arsenal poster is fantastic! I think there is a NYC dealer who would love that one got her store.

Thanks!-I saw it on the Bay for quite awhile (5-6 days) it had a BIN for a crazy low price. I was shocked that no one scooped it up right away. I appreciate your kind words,

I agree with you about the poster being a Home Front item and that qualifies for our purposes.

Right in the poster it says "Food needed abroad".

I like both of them. Especially the Watervliet one! (I live about 10 minutes from the arsenal)

Thanks for the comments-I'd like one day to visit the museum (at the arsenal)
