Genie Militaire is the french word for Military engineer

So i would say its a french one

Greetings Stefan

I did not know that the French Army had the same bags.

Is it ww1/ww2 or later?

It would be post-WWII when so much US equipment was left in France. It made sense to adopt equipment that used components of existing American equipment.

Yes, I think so too. An huge heap of US military equipment was given to French immediately after WWII as military aid.

I've already seen an US clinometer marked Genie Militaire as well MI carbine magazine pouches modified adding a ring for the french rig.

Also Ikes etc., with "Armee Francais" stamped in the lining...not to mention hundreds of vehicles of all types!

Even when I did my officer's training at the beginning of the 90s, we still had M1943 shovels and other leftovers from the US army

The French Army is like the old Marine Corps ... never discard unless it's torn to shreds :D

Bonjour.

There were also weapons.

When I started my career in engineering in 1969, half of earthmoving equipment and original bridge was "U.S."
Sometimes, in the painting, one guessed the white star. Other times, it was the logo of the "Marshall Plan"
I even recovered in the 1990s hatchets Mod.1910 with their cases.
But more heavy equipment :D

Hello Sol,

when I read "génie militaire" on the cover, I had a thought for you ;) ... I was sure you would end up posting a comment, as a specialist of Genie B)
