Mitter2k1 Posted September 28, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2013 I bought a huge lot of modern rank patches and now I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of most of it. But anyways here is what I got. PVTx 39 PFCx 349- mixture of large and small SPCx 203 SSGx 40 SFCx 69 MSGx 35 1SGx 20 SGMx 8 CSMx 10 Velcro backed SSI x4 Hashmarks x 8 strips of plastic backed, 2 strips of cloth backed. Some still have the good/defect stickers on the back which I found interesting. The bad have been marked with a red marker. But here are the pics of the pile minus the ones I kept for myself. I think I'll post these for sale soon when I have time to get better photos and create a listing. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/28/yty7ahy5.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/28/davepyha.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/28/enabede4.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/28/ynenysub.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/28/esezyry7.jpg
Mitter2k1 Posted September 28, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted September 28, 2013 For some reason the last of the pics didn't post correctly. Here's the last of them.
Sabrejet Posted September 28, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 28, 2013 The obvious answer is to drip feed pairs on the forum and / or eBay....or re-sell them as a complete lot to a dealer, perhaps for a modest profit?

I don't disagree with you there. I'm trying to figure up what is fair and will get them moving without losing my rear on postage or eBay/paypal fees. I think the wife's reaction was worth the purchase so far. I did manage a KFC from her that made me laugh. But I explained the majority will be sold off and she still scowled a little. You win some, you lose some I guess.
Mitter2k1 Posted September 28, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted September 28, 2013 I forgot to ask up above, what unit does the four round patches with chains belong to?
Sabrejet Posted September 28, 2013 Share #6 Posted September 28, 2013 Do a dry run...in other words, make up a single matched pair of every rank you have, set your price per pair, and give 'em a whirl on the forum. That'll "test the water" so to speak. Lots of collectors like to have exemplar pairs of every rank from various periods in their collections, so you have a potential market there. Alternatively, another option might be to put together complete sets PFC > Sgt Major, or as close as you can get (as below) and offer them for sale accordingly? That way, collectors can acquire an "instant" collection!

Between here and eBay they will move. Or just add a little to what you paid, keep in mind you got some patches out of it. And sell to a dealer. John F. Posted September 28, 2013 Share #8 Posted September 28, 2013 I forgot to ask up above, what unit does the four round patches with chains belong to? The patches are for the 301st Logistical Command.
Mitter2k1 Posted September 28, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted September 28, 2013 Thanks everyone for the advice and thanks John for identifying these. I'm going to have to set aside some time to put a for sale listing together on here and move them minus what few I kept. Thanks again, Mike M
