History Man Posted September 27, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 27, 2013 Beautiful helmet Ron...condition is nice and you don't see too many unit marked, camouflaged helmets. I bet Tony would get a kick out of this one! Philip

aef1917 Posted September 27, 2013 Share #10 Posted September 27, 2013 34th Division are tough to find. I've also noticed that they tend to be British Mark Is, which makes the 34th an interesting case. They left the US in September, 1918, and in August, the AEF had ordered that all units shipping overseas should be equipped with helmets before they left the US. It's very possible that the 34th was among the recipients of the 20,000 Mark I helmets shipped to the US for training purposes.

Bugme Posted September 27, 2013 Share #12 Posted September 27, 2013 Interesting helmet Ron. The 34th M1917's like this rarely show up which makes this helmet desireable but, also, the fact that it's done in camo and on a Brodie, makes all the nicer.
