Just a random pickup, must have been brought back by a Soldier as there was some other assorted Japanese items. I just thought they were in nice shape and interesting. Elastic is dried out, but they look like ever been worn.

These aren't tanker goggles they are the Japanese army issue dust goggles.

Interesting, I had seen them referred to as tanker goggles. What is the difference or is the tanker part just slang?

The tanker goggles have rubber / foam around the goggles, similar to a US type.

These that you show fold up and fit in the small leather pouch . You will usually see these dust goggles being worn by motorcycle riders or truck drivers.

tanker goggles have leather padding (not foam) and are flat on the front all the way across.

the tanker goggles are very rare to find and bring about 400 bucks or more for a set.

your right it is leather / chamois just like the Japanese flight goggles. I was typing too fast and not reading what I was doing.
