I found this plastic Euro M1-type helmet (liner?). Leather liner/chin strap. Size 56-58 is the only marking....W. German maybe?

Here's a classic example of what motivated me to compile this thread. There's a "WW2 US Army Helmet" about to be sold on eBayUK...the auction ends later today. It's already bid up to just over $100. As soon as I saw it I recognized it as a Belgian clone....ABL logo in the crown and "A. Raymond" components etc (see pics) So, I politely messaged the seller and pointed this out. He's chosen to ignore it completely and so someone is about to get burned! I suppose you could argue that the potential buyer knows exactly what he's buying...maybe so...but equally it could just be an inexperienced collector. What more can one do?! :o

Thank you for this post too Sabrejet... I had an unidentified Euroclone liner which I now know is one of these, as it has this same ABL logo in the crown and "A. Raymond" poppers on the nape strap... Thanks mate 😁👍

Euro vs US nape straps: Top to bottom...US- made WW2, Belgian-made, US-made adjustable nape. Apart from printed makers’ marks, the Euro nape can be identified by virtue of its Belgian maker's mark on the snaps. The US snaps are often marked RAU of Prov. R.I.

Just the info I was looking for that unfortunately gave an answer I was dreading to find. Thank you Ian, if you happen to see this.

I doubt he'll see it since he hasn't signed in for nearly 3 years but, it is a good topic.

Hello, I have a question, recently I got my hands on Austrian M 75 ( almost mint condition), but problem is liner is too small for me, 53-55, and I need a bigger one. Will M1 repro liner ( https://www.militarysurplus.eu/product-eng-4429-M1-helmet-inner-shell-plastic.html ) fit into M75 ( I'll attach markings from M75). As I live in Serbia, there is almost no way I can get my hands on M75 liner. I need it for airsoft and as a decoration, not as a collectable. If someone here has M75 liner that is bigger than 53-55, in good condition, I'm willing to buy it.

Hi Folks:  Recently attended a French flea market and picked up a helmet liner which appeared to have “some” elements of a M1 type helmet but I figured it was a European clone.  After looking at this site, I realize it’s a M-51 French type liner stamped “INAPO 1954” with a chin strap and leather band.  It certainly is different

The helmet is a Civil Defence Danish M48, the CF stamp is Civilforsvar (Civil Defence)

I found this helmet liner online, so I only have the seller's pictures, but could anyone identify where this helmet came from/is it a replica?

It is a US M1 Helmet liner adopted in 1964 that was modified by Peru. It was repainted, and the rivets, suspension, and sweatband are locally made parts.
