Senator57 Posted September 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 12, 2013 Greetings- I just picked up this metal, regulation-sized USAF Staff Sergeant insignia. However, in the center of the star is a red jewel. It's hard to tell from the picture of the reverse but there's a slight indentation to show that this was deliberately designed this way. Has any one else seen AF insignia like this or know when these insignia were used? Could it be a transitional piece? Thanks. -Senator57
oldfireguy Posted September 12, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 12, 2013 A sweetheart piece maybe?
vintageproductions Posted September 12, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 12, 2013 It's a sweetheart piece. About ten or twelve years ago one of the insignia manufacturers cleared out old inventory / stock and they had tons of these in all the USAF enlisted ranks.
