INIMICUS Posted September 5, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2013 THIS UNMARKED (GUY SAYS) BIG'UN LOOKS A GOOD DEAL LIKE A FAKE ON FRANK'S SITE SAVE FOR THE S GUARD. ALSO, THAT SHEATH LOOKS BRAND NEW. SUPPOSEDLY BROUGHT BACK FROM 2 WW2. THANKS A LOT FOR ANY THOUGHTS! DAVID
Big Al Posted September 6, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2013 It looks like a Western W49 bowie knife which I believe came about after WWII and is commonly associated with the Vietnam War. What is the deal with the black and white photo?
gunbarrel Posted September 6, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 6, 2013 IMHO it's a cheap Pakistani copy of the Western W-49 with the "Pakistan" stamping removed. They usuallu gor for $15-$20. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pakistan-Bowie-Knife-w-Sheaf-/251330295661

sactroop Posted September 6, 2013 Share #7 Posted September 6, 2013 In spite of the poor picture I would also agree with the knock off of a Western W49. The sheath is not correct for the Western it has features of several different versions and doesn't fit any correct one's. The W49 was first produced in 1964. All of them were either marked on the blade or marked on the guards for a time in the late 60's and early 70's.
