One thinks of Domed Brass as being a late 40s-50s think, but the evidently were made and worn during WWII, maybe even in the 30s, granted they probably were rare and a purely private purchase item.

Here a pair being worn in March 1944, by one Clarence Rafeld Jr. The Branch one will be Field Artillery.

This type of collar brass I've seen described as being postwar, ca. early-50s.  But is that really the case?  This is on an early-mid war WWII coat which I suspect may be humped up:

This looks like a Type V Disk 1942-1970. However, if there is any convexity, it would be a Post-World War Two Type V Collar Disk. William K. Emerson mentions that beginning in 1951 many collar disks are manufactured with a slight convexity.

Note "MULTIPLE PIECES" designation to differentiate these from the stamped, one-piece disks.

The post WW2 type 5s have a slightly convex shape. I tried to take a picture showing the flat and the convex one side by side. Hope it shows up in the pic.

I have this one that I've yet to find a example as to the TK on the collar disk.Screenshot_20250808_074606_eBay.jpg.6f45c093d7ef1749dd4f4f4998d5e3f4.jpg

6th Tank Battalion. Is that what you're saying? I have seen other Armor collar disks with the "TK" designation.

The TK - what does it stand for? Tank Killer? 😊

Tank, as I posted in the post above. It is probably German-made.
