freakjeep73 Posted August 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 21, 2013 I have an old World War 2 Bomber's Jacket that is in fair condition. The leather is all there, albeit somewhat brittle. My friend over at a local museum who grew up with Kenneth M. Eaton (A WW2 vet with 10,000 items ranging from a canadian folding bicycle used in D-Day to an m60 Patton Tank!) told me to use a sort of goo used to preserve leather in shoes... And, I'm kinda hesitant to use it. His father used it on everything and an example of a civil war knapsack is wonderful, but is this a good idea in the long run? Is it safe? Thanks in advance! -Tyler
Lee Ragan Posted August 21, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 21, 2013 If it worked for the older man, don't you think it might be OK for you? This sounds like "dubin", used in WWII on military shoes & boots.
