wclracer64 Posted August 20, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2013 Hi all: I picked up a company size field desk over the weekend. the makers plate has a date of 5-22-42, would this be the date of manufacture, or the contract date? Also it has been painted with a later dark od paint and I want to restore it back to WWII appearance, so can anyone tell me the correct od paint to use? Does anyone have the mixing formula for the correct shade? I'll get some pictures and post them when I can. Thanks for any help! Bill
hawkdriver Posted August 20, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2013 I don't have any on hand, but if you can get a copy of Supply Line from the Military Vehicle Preservation Association MVPA, there are several companies that sell period correct spray paint. They identify it by year date. I would get my own, but I take them to work for crapper readers and people steal them.

hawkdriver Posted August 20, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 20, 2013 Go to this web site: http://www.rapcoparts.com/spraypaint.html Select Early WWII Lusterless Olive Drab. You should be good to hook!
