Morlok Posted August 17, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2013 I recently inherited my Grandparents house & found this tucked away in the garage. I found some info online & it seems the Navy kept powder in these in the ships, so they could check the condition of the powder. That way if the powder was deteriorating in the canister, the powder for the guns was probably going bad as well. Does this sound right? I don't have any interest in this, but thought maybe someone out there would like it!! ...I stole this picture online, but mine looks just like it. Stamped on mine is: REPLACEMENT SAMPLE POWDER TANK MK.1 T.A.C.U. Co. 1945 423038 A 1 Thanks!!
