2nd Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (SAC) Located at Barksdale AFB LA from 01 Nov 1981 till 30 Apr 1992. Supporting KC-10 tanker's. This Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is one of the few that is NOT RELATED to a Field Maintenance Squadron as the 2nd FMS remained active during the entire assignment period. The reason for the separate Squadron was to provide AF Support & Maintenance to Douglas Aircraft Corp because the Support Contract required the aircraft to retain FAA Certification.
