knd643 Posted August 9, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 9, 2013 Hi. I found this USN uniform at a antique store today and was wondering if it is WW2. I looked up the ship U.S.S Rehoboth and found out that construction started on August 3, 1942 and was launched on November 8, 1942. It was commisioned as a seaplane tender from 1944 to 1947 then was commisioned again as a oceanographic survey ship from 1948 to 1970. I think its WW2 but not so sure. I asked the antique store to put it on hold for me until I found out if it is WW2. Thank you.

History Man Posted August 9, 2013 Share #7 Posted August 9, 2013 Ship rockers came out in the 1960s and are still used. This one is probably from Vietnam or after. Philip

Garandomatic Posted August 10, 2013 Share #11 Posted August 10, 2013 Another thing to look for are the tags. Wwii uniforms just had naval clothing factory and some space for name and etc. That rate is post war also.
Bearmon Posted August 10, 2013 Share #12 Posted August 10, 2013 http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/sh-usn/usnsh-r/avp50.htm Ship was Decommissioned in 1970 so your uniform is probably VN era!
