WW2 jeep headlights

Am I the only one that is cursed in this area? I seem to run through headlights like they were candy. I was just putting the cover on the jeep, had the hood up, bumped it, and it slammed down and cracked the headlight. It's not a wiring issue, its a 'I flip the headlight up to fast and smash it, or I bump into it with something, or I get a defective one and it blows on me'

And now I gather they are not making then any more so people tell me to go to the new brighter kits- but that seems like sacrilege!

Funny thing is I put away spares of other lamps figuring they would start getting tougher to get, yet have never had to replace one of them!

What brand of lights are you using? I had a pair of the repro sealites and they were junk, ended up using 6 volt motorcycle buld and haven't had a problem since.

was using wagner 4020, but they don't make them anymore I am told. All the 6 volt ones have supposedly gone to a replaceable halogen bulb.
