STORAGE OF SHEARLING FLIGHT JACKETS AND PANTS

Is there any particular good or bad way i should be storing my shearling flight pants ? At present they laid flat with a cotton sheet covering them , my 2 other shearling jackets are also laid flat in a wooden chest , is this ok or should i find another way in which to store them ??

Storage space at this present time is very limited so i dont have alot of space options , all my other flight jackets are laid flat as well in the same chest as my shearlings

 

Just as a side note has anyone got any pieces of old shearling that i could use to repair a couple of splits and tears in my flight pants ??
